Offset

Command alias O

Yerfdog command C:PJG:OFFSET

Enhanced offset command, used for creating concentric circles, parallel lines, and parallel curves. OFFSET creates a new object at a specified distance from an existing object or through a specified point. Behaves similarly to the native offset command, except that snap and osnap are temporarily turned off for the duration of the command. This is done to avoid picking the wrong object to offset when working in a crowded area of the drawing. If you need to use an osnap while in the command, use shift-right click to bring up the osnap menu. Also, the setting of linear units precision is set to 2 decimal places.

Command structure:

Command: o OFFSET
Specify offset distance or [Through] : do so
Select object to offset or : do so
Specify through point:
Select object to offset or exit:

Offset 100

Command alias O1

Yerfdog command C:PJG:OFFSET_100

100mm is one of the most common distances to offset. Therefore a command to quickly offset an object 100mm is provided. The default offset distance previously used by the standard offset command is not altered.

Offset to Xline

Command alias OX

Yerfdog command C:PJG:OFFSET_2_XLINE Yerfdog command C:PJG:OFFSET_2_XLINE

Offsets a line and then converts it to an xline. Only line objects can be converted into xlines. The xline is drawn in layer 0. Useful for drawing construction lines. Also, the command is not repeating, i.e. it terminates after one operation.

Offset to Current Layer

Command alias OC

Yerfdog command C:PJG:OFFSET_CURRENT Yerfdog command C:PJG:OFFSET_CURRENT

Behaves similarly to the native offset command, except that the new object is changed to the current layer. Also, the command is not repeating, i.e. it terminates after one operation.

Offset & Erase

Command alias OER

Yerfdog command C:PJG:OFFSET_ERASE Yerfdog command C:PJG:OFFSET_ERASE

Offsets the selected object and then erases the original.

Warnings

If object cannot be offset, the original is deleted. Use undo to get it back. Command is repeating and does not end when is pressed. Cancel command with the key.

Offset & Fillet

Command alias OF

Yerfdog command C:PJG:OFFSET_FILLET Yerfdog command C:PJG:OFFSET_FILLET

Offset to Chosen Layer

Command alias OL

Yerfdog command C:PJG:OFFSET_LAYER Yerfdog command C:PJG:OFFSET_LAYER

Command to offset and change the offsetted object to the chosen layer. Asks for what layer you wish to offset into. Default is the previous layer chosen, or if this is the first time the command has been invoked in the drawing session, the default is the current layer.

Command structure:

Command: ol ol
